On September 26, as part of the Competition Week, a meeting of experts of the BRICS Antimonopoly Centre was held.
The comprehensive work was done by the HSE-Skolkovo Institute and UCL Center for Law & Economics under leadership of Prof. Ioannis Lianos. The report is the first serious outcome of the BRICS cooperation in the competition law and policy field. The preparatory work on this report was conducted in the course of the Joint Working Group on the Global Food Value Chains established by the BRICS competition authorities back in 2015. The first interim results of this work were presented in May 2016 in St. Petersburg.
Within the Russian Competition Week held on September 24-27 in Sochi took place the session of the BRICS coordination committee on Antimonopoly policy. It has covered many issues, focusing on four overreaching topics.

This summer the HSE-Skolkovo Institute for Law and Development has opened a new division - the BRICS Antimonopoly Centre. The latter will engage in applied research and expert analysis aimed at improving competition policies and strengthening antitrust regulation in the BRICS economies.
Institute Director gives an expert’s opinion on the RBC report on the regulation of e-commerce and the adoption of the Fifth Antimonopoly Package.

The treatise was presented by the team of authors during a conference at the Higher School of Economics on April 23.

On April 10, 2018, the above-titled plenary session took place within the framework of the XIX April International Conference of the Higher School of Economics in Moscow.
September 27th saw a joint meeting of the BRICS Working Groups for Research on Competition Issues in the Food Market
On March 24 at the World Trade Centre a joint meeting of the International Working Group on the research of competition issues in the pharmaceutical sector was held, with the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia, with a high-level panel discussion on: "the Experience of the BRICS countries in overcoming the HIV/AIDS epidemic: the availability of medicines".
November 12th saw the opening of the two-day conference of competition authorities of the BRICS countries in Durban, South Africa, under the theme of 'Competition and Inclusive Growth'.
Speaking at the fourth conference of BRICS countries' competition authorities, Head of the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (FAS) Igor Artemyev said the BRICS countries intend to pool their efforts in investigating monopoly actions of international corporations.
On the 22-23rd June the BRICS Competition Law and Policy Forum took place at HSE St Petersburg. The international conference was organised jointly by the HSE-Skolkovo Institute for Law and Development, the Centre for Law, Economics and Society at UCL and the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS). Heads of antitrust departments and experts from the BRICS and the EEC were joined by leading academics and experts on competition law from Europe and the US.
